OFLOXACIN OFTALDAY
ADMINISTRATION: Ocular
Description
Sterile eye drops containing 0.3% ofloxacin and hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (HPMC).
Presentation
5 mL dropper bottle with an atraumatic applicator.
Action
Ofloxacin is a latest-generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic with excellent penetration into the corneal structure due to its lipophilic properties. Its optimal solubility at a neutral pH minimizes precipitation of the active ingredient, ensuring a higher concentration in tears.
Greater corneal penetration than ciprofloxacin and higher potency than norfloxacin.
Inhibits topoisomerase IV and bacterial DNA gyrase, preventing DNA replication and transcription.
Effective against a broad spectrum of bacteria, including Gram-positive, Gram-negative, anaerobes, mycoplasma, and Chlamydia.
Indications
Used for the treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis, corneal ulcers, secondary infections due to keratoconjunctivitis sicca, and as a pre- and post-surgical ophthalmic antibiotic in cats and dogs.

Each 100 mL of solution contains:
Ofloxacin – 0.3 g
